Hey Rag
The season for me starts on March 29th at The Snowshoe Grilling Challenge! Can't wait! We are also helping out next month with some cooking classes and judging classes, there are still spots open for both. Check it out. www.nebs.org

Thanks for joining us. I believe you are the first NEBS member on our forum.

So let's get down to business.........What's the word on the NEBS street about the Lime Rock contest. I judged there last year as somewhat of a rooke. Now that I have been to other contests, I can see that there are some serious issues with this event.

It has so much potential! I understand that the folks at the track talk like they want to grow the event to be one of the top contests in the Northeast. They only seem to talk, not walk the walk. I talked to them months ago and it was way too late when they finally committed to putting the event on again. Applications still aren't available for teams or judges and sanctioning does not seem to have been granted yet.

What's the scoop on Vito? When his name was mentioned as I talked to the competitors last year most just rolled their eyes, made a funny face and then didn't say much else!

I plan to go up and judge again.......just curious as to what your take on the situation is.

We (the BOD) just got word last night that the Limerock contest is NOT happening!

Vito? We haven't heard from him in a little while. I think he's opening a new restaurant.

The best source for BBQ joints is www.pigtrip.net

We're going to Hudson Valley Ribfest.

Mike:

No surprise here regarding the demise of the Lime Rock contest. It's a shame that the management at the track is so clueless. The venue is so great. Is there anyone else in NEBS that might contact them now about helping them put on a first class contest in years to come? It would be such a shame to waste all that potential!

It sucks.
I'm not sure of the whole story, if it was the management of the park, or if it was an organizer issue. This will be addressed at the next BOD meeting.
