Does anyone know where I can find a good par of Silicon Gloves? I need something so we will not roast our hands when pulling on the charcoal basket

Agreed on the welders' gloves. Try Harbor Freight for some good, inexpensive welders' gloves. I also highly recommend Steve Raichlen's grilling gloves, available on his website. Nice, heavy, lined gloves that cover most of the forearm. They go for about $20, I think.

Call Bob at the BBQ Guru. They sell the silcone ones and the welding gloves but they aren't listed on their web page. Or stop by their shop if your close.

you can also find them on ebay...with shipping about the same price...great for pork pulling or handling hot food.

Even decent welding gloves won't completely protect you from the hot metal of a charcoal basket in use. If you hold on too long, you will feel it. I don't know if the silicone ones will hold up. I would use heavy duty welding gloves and be careful.
