Not sure you saw my post on the Brethern forum, I contacted Sandy Fulton via e mail. She advises that the perdue and anything butt catogories will have to use a 1/2 aluminum pan of the 9X9 box for turn in this year, no more platters. That is all the information that I received from her, other than she is doing a mailing with some information at the end of this week. Here is the note she sent:
17 days and counting!!!!!!! I can’t wait!! Yes you will have a choice of the aluminum pan or styro foam for Anything Butt and Perdue. I am going to send a letter out the end of the week with all the information. Looking forward to seeing you! |
Sooooo, I guess Vension Green Chili Stew is out?
I thought they mentioned they were going to judge at each site? |
Damn!!!! That is what we were going to make...... Guess we will have to have Venison Red Chili Stew... _________________ 3 Eyz BBQ

Does anyone remember if the anything butt contest is on site or off? And if its off site, can you use your own container to do turn in? _________________ "Life, its what you do between meals."

By off site, I assume you mean turn-ins at the tent?? If that is the case, it was turn-ins at the tent last year with whatever container you wanted. BUTTTTTTT, there has been posts indicating that they might limit you to a half plan or standard box... I assume they will give out instructions (as the other post indicated).. _________________ 3 Eyz BBQ

Thanks Jason. We have done some that the judges come to your site. Kinda hard to turn in soup in the 9X boxes. _________________ "Life, its what you do between meals."

I agree. Thinking maybe they will allow you to put individual cups into a half pan or something like that. I think it would be difficult to limit folks to a 9x9 box, given the spirit of the category... Would have been real hard for us to turn in a carved our pineapple in a 9x9 box.. _________________ 3 Eyz BBQ

Got my info packet from Sandy today! How long an extention cord and hose do most bring? I asked Sandy a couple weeks back and the answer was 200ft. Anyone take that much? They've moved the judges tent so it's closer and she says there will be more portalets in our area.

We've been fine with 100' but now that they have a lot more teams, might be smart to bring more.. _________________ Dan Hixon
