I attended a great class yesterday on BBQ Comps. It was put on by Linda and Jerry Mulane with instructors from the teams Fat Angel, Philly Pigs and Pig Pen.
Steve Raab and his lovely fiancee', Loren Berkheimer, (Fat Angel team) put on a great presentation on chicken and brisket, and many, many tips.
Jim Boggs of Philly Pigs followed with even more info, tips, stories and the time line they use in comps.
Rich Militano and his lovely and tolerant wife, Connie, presented a very entertaining insight to 'Memphis in May' contests, plus a lot of info on pig roasting.
I have been scratching and digging for info like this for a year in prep for comps this year. Thinking I was closing on what to do, I left with a better idea of what really needs to be accomplished, but also a little intimidated.
I can't wait for Yardley.
These guys are great for sharing info with people who are, in turn, going to compete against them in the future.
If you ever get a chance to attend a class like this, grab it. It is well worth it. _________________ Gasser
