It looks like it was a great contest. I wish I was there. However I do not get my grill until next weekend. It always helps if you have something to cook the food on. Also I think that four may be my limit this year. I have already spent a lot of money- grill, 2 shelters, cement slab etc. I may be able to squeeze in a fifth. I am really sorry to hear about Fred. I only met him a few times, but each time was really nice. I wish him a speedy recovery. _________________ Big George's BBQ

I specifically did more than top ten, cause top 20 in a team of 85 teams is a great job!!! Would you rather I said, "a few 9s away from top ten??" _________________ 3 Eyz BBQ

Wow - that's all I can say. We had a great time this weekend. It was great seeing everyone & meeting new people. Thanks for all the kind words. It was really a shock to hear our name called 3 times - especially for ribs. They weren't very good. Well what do I know?? If anyone has any pork tips I'm listening!

CONGRATULATIONS to everyone for a great weekend, its was long, hot, but a gas (no pun intended) to say the least. All MABA folks represented very well, especially Tom and Christi. I believe we had members called in each category.
I gotta thanks the guys at 3 Eyz's (Mutha included) for putting up with me and the kids. I know my Jason was over there a ton, and they were patient and very gracious.
Also gotta thanks Rag for stopping by, giving a few tips and support.
Lastly I have to thank my two older kids for coming with me to help out. My partner dropped Thurs night, and they stepped in very well. I hate to say it, but I think B-n-BBQ is no more. Might have to come up with a new name.
What's next for everyone? My is Gavinells in May. _________________ Chris

Not a problem at all. Great to see them both so interested in BBQ. Jason kept offering to help which was must appreciated!!! Most of the time we were good to go, but he certainly tried to help in the eating department of all that pig. Must have been proud to have them helping you out. Great showing also with that call. _________________ 3 Eyz BBQ

Hey All,
This was a really great contest......great weather......great folks....good food.....but no calls........maybe next time. I was cooking with Tom & Michele of Lo'-n-Slo', I was the hog cooker......tryed my best for them but didn't make the grade even though the pig was good. I met Mutha Chicken......seen his picture so often on this forum I knew him the minute he walked up....goooood people. I'm sure I met more of you MABA folks there as I love to talk. I should tell you that I'm quite challenged in the hearing department compliments of the University of South Vietnam '68 to '69 so you know I'm not dumb or arrogant when I answer you wrong.
Lastly I agree with one of the other forum members who said it was sure good to see that the big names can be beat.

Between you and 3Eyz samples, I should have pulled up a chair, put on a bib, and left a tip. Thanks for sharing food and info. _________________ Gasser
