I was thinking of getting an afternoon cook up with some of you more local dudes.
To keep cost down we could set up in the morning, cook chicken and ribs (to avoid overnight cooking) and setup some type of judging with VERBAL FEEDBACK. Tear down and head home by dark.
Any interest??????????
One location I have in mind is a biker club I belonged to for about 10 years ....Blue Comet MC in Skipback, Pa.
We can rent the grounds and club house for a reasonable fee (I have to check on the cost).
They have unlimited grass covered space, toilets, a covered picnic pavilion, water available and power at the pavilion.
Cook sites would not have water and electric.
I thought we would keep it quick and simple. Exchange ideas and smart remarks, have fun and get to use are pits.
Let me hear your thoughts

Rag I think I would be fun and depending on the date I would be up for it. I also like the idea of only doing ribs and chicken that way we could keep costs down and that also means I will not have to pull the trailer down I can do the cook on just the WSM and the weber kettle.

That's about 100 miles away from me; depending on the day, I'd be open to doing it. I think it would be especially if some of the local judges (like Carl and Andy) could make it. Heck, Carl could bring his Caldera and try his hand at competing.
When were thinking of doing this? |

Sounds like fun. Depending on the date I'd might be up for either cooking or judging. Looking forward to further developments. _________________ MABA - Board of Directors

Pending on when it was I could be interested. That sounds pretty close to me. There is a rib event in Perkasie. The site I believe is Perk Old Towne if anyone is interested. _________________ Big George's BBQ

Ok, here it is. The grounds I have in mind cost more than I thought they would.
It includes a covered pavilion with elect $ water. Actual cooking to be done in a mowed lawn.
They have job-johnnies for your comfort.
Price is $150 for the day that would be divided evenly between us.
I penciled us in for 6/21, to be confirmed later if we want to do this.
Let me know who would be IN.... _________________ Gasser

I would be interested if it were in July. June is a very busy month for me, and I will be in the Dominican Republic on June 21. If it changes to July let me know the date and I will see if I can make it. I live about 5-7mins away from skippack. _________________ Josh Ehrhorn

That's the same day as the Nat'l Capital BBQ Battle. I'll have to miss out.
