I bought a small whole brisket yesterday. I cut it into 3 sections to sample 3 different rubs, my old one, my new one and a commercial one Christy has declaired the "Bomb Diggity". They are on the WSM now.
Next week it's ribs. While at the brisket store I picked up the stuff for the ribs. I have: mustard, pam, dark beer, light beer, bourbon, (It's for the ribs but I think I'll be going out for more when it gets to be rib time), tang, apple juice, apple vinegar, apple jelly, grape jelly, balsalmic vinegar, grape and cherry jell-o mix, Vanilla pudding mix, honey, Molassas, Wocestershire sauce and powder, Soy Sauce, unsalted butter, peanut butter, parkay, brown sugar, turbano sugar, 2 comercial rubs (Both have pigs on the label so I know they are right for pork ribs), two spray bottles, a roll of heavy duty aluminium foil (I like to say it like the Brits - AL LOU MIN EE UM) I'll be mixing up my own sauce and compairing it to some sauce from the same people that make that "Bomb diggity" brisket rub and I forgot the damn ribs! Probably didn't want them sitting around for a week anyway. So - when I go out to get the ribs next week is there anything else I should pick up?
