I spoke with the organizer this morning and right now there are only 14 teams signed up.

$11,000 in prize money, state championship if they get 25 teams. 100% certified judges, she has a huge waiting list already for judges.

Anyone going?

We are thinking about it but isn't today the deadline? We want to see how it goes this weekend first. If it goes OK we may try to get in.

I have been limited to one contest per month, per the holder of the money. We are going to Que and Cruz in July.

Smokey Bottom Boys will be there.

I checked their website, and they've extended the deadline. Having only 14 teams will do that. It's really a nicely run contest, and they treat the teams right. I have no complaints about the venue either, during their carnival. The midway and rides give the kids something to do instead of telling you how bored they are. They also have live entertainment through Firday and Saturday, and fireworks Saturday night, if you're going to stay.

And hey, what's not to like about a deep fried snickers after it's all said in done??!! Surprised

Sounds like the constraints that my household CFO put on me as well. Also, she ahs chosen to enforce that once a month leaving of the baby along with the CFO.. Making an exception for August though (Bel Air and New Holland).

Ready for the show on Friday Chris??

Man, I am on the edge, ready to go!!!! Being here in Va is killing me, I know there are things I can be doing at the house. I'm leaving down here at lunch tomorrow, meeting at the lab at 1pm, then its "hasta la vista baby!" Taking Thurs off to load the trailer, bounce off the walls, stress the spouse, that sort of stuff. Heading out Fri at 7am, should put me down there by 9-9:30, unless I get a stopped along the way.Shocked Shocked

Thankfully she hasn't notice that we got into New Holland in Aug..........yet. I think I wrote that check out of my travel account, we may be ok. Cool

Can you tell I'm having a ADHD moment!

Thankfully we got the last cabin down there, getting in on Weds, do some fishing, relax and lend a hand if needed.

Their website says 24 teams will be there. One more and it's for the state championship.
