Hi All
My name's Dave. Some of you may know me from the forum, some others from in person. I live in Baltimore in a rowhouse facing Patterson Park with my wife and her youngest daughter along with entirely too many cats.
I got started in smoking through my brother, who smoked turkeys on his Weber every Thanksgiving. After the year he cut down his pear trees and decided to use the unseasoned wood in his offset, I figured I could do better. I've moved from my own Weber to an offset about seven years ago, and just picked up a Backwoods Chubby.
I became a CBJ out in Dover last month, though have yet to judge at a contest. I had the honor and pleasure to cook with Don and Mike from Mason Dixon Smokers (formerly PA Posse) in Salisbury. And I'm thrilled that I've been extended the same courtesy from Keith with Smokey Bottom Boys down at the Chesapeake Jubilee. Mark Friedrichs and I have also been talking about Yardley and Bel Air.
