I just finished up this class put on by the National Resaurant Association and I got a lot out of it. The biggest thing about this class is once you are certified, the Health Department gets off your back when it comes to Catering inspections.

Around here the HD is not allowed to insepct Caterings. These are private parties and you have to be invited to attend. Now Concessions they will inspect regularly. At least once every 6 months. _________________ The only thing consistant in BBQ is, It's always the judges fault!

I took the class last March. Afterwards I scratched 5 resturants off my list of places to eat. _________________ Gasser

Yep, I understand that.
MC, your right. Private parties are off limits but I do a lot of street vending. Thats where it will help. Its a great class for anyone who wants more info on food safety. _________________ "Life, its what you do between meals."

I have amy ServSafe stuff, Doesnt apply to catering or Comps, does if you are vending. If you go the vending route good luck, alot of really hard work to make a couple of bucks! _________________ death isnt a punishement , it is a release. |

| ServSafe is a great class to take for anyone involved in food not matter what you are doing. It covers everything from proper food storage, cooking temps to Legal/Regulatory Issues. If anyone has any questions about it I am a certified ServSafe trainer and test proctor. |
