We have recently purchased a Meadow Creek TS120. We have not recieved it yet, we should be getting it in about a month. Does anyone have this smoker or know anything about it? How much food can it hold? Anything interesting that you can tell me about it, I would love to hear it. _________________ Josh Ehrhorn

I had a Lang 60 for 4 years (basically the same). It's a great size for competitions as you can easily fit two briskets, two or three pork butts, 6 slabs of ribs and a doz chicken thighs.
If you didn't order the grill in the front, you can always add one. I added a $100 Charbroil to the front of my Lang, and that was a great chicken grill.
I've also catered many parties with the lang 60 including an 80# pig, three briskets and 12 chicken halves for one party. The pig has to be tied up like a football, or laying with legs forward. The pig cannot be spread eagle style as there isn't enough width to the cooker.
It's a good size. I ended up with a TS250 because I needed to do larger parties. _________________ TS250

I've heard good things about the MCs from folks. Alot of folks seem to go to the 250 after some time, specifically those that cater due to its large capacity. I've seen the chicken cooker on those also and thinks it's pretty sweet.. Have not have my hands on one to actually cook on it though.. _________________ 3 Eyz BBQ

Eventhough we have done well with a Weber Charcoal for chicken at the Competitions- 2nd at Berks I am getting the Chicken Cooker as an attachment to the TS 120. The one thing I have not made up my mind about is the BBQ Guru. I have heard great things about them. My one son says that is not cooking, and not staying up to monitor the grill. _________________ Big George's BBQ

I'll let you know more this weekend, getting the marinade ready for the brisket tonight, gonna smoke it tomorrow, after I get back from the judging class at MC. First try with my guru and tallboy. Hopefully the rain will hold out till it gets done! _________________ Chris

Staying up is a join effort. He is younger and works night shift so it is easier for him. We will most likely do the cooks and be up. I do agree with him _________________ Big George's BBQ

Was at the meadow creek open house friday and saturday, they were selling rafle tickets for summerfest, grand prize is a TS-120 with the trim package,,, I feel I got the winning ticket..lol.. would be sweet. I did pick up while there, a BBQ GURU digi q for the pr-60 that's on my caterer's delight, can't wait to try it out. _________________ Josh Shade

Hopefully you win. MCTS120 is a good looking smoker, I can't wait to get it. I think we are going to hold of getting a GURU. They are nice, but I think it will take away from the smoking for me. There is something about staying up and watching the thermometer and adding wood. Maybe in the future, but not right now. Good luck with the raffel, hopefully you enjoy your GURU. _________________ Josh Ehrhorn

The guru will more than likely be used when catering and doing whole hog for people, I'll try it at some comps this year, and see how it works. Our team is usually just my wife and I, and staying up all night myself, makes it a long day for turn ins and tear down. So a chance at some sleep will be a welcome thing. I doubt I'd sleep much, be paranoid something would go wrong , especially New Holland, lost power there 2 last year because of another team. Almost missed pork turn in, case I had my southern yankee, and with no power, the rotiesser wouldn't run, and the pork was stuck where I couldn't reach it..lol. _________________ Josh Shade

I saw a MC 120 with a chicken cooker on the front and a warmer on the back. A really sweet package. Melvin sure has some nice combos offered.
The Guru does a great job with stick burners if you run enough fan. _________________ Gasser

We got a MC120 a little over a year ago and love it. I am currently cooking 6 Butts, 2 Briskets, and 8 Racks of ribs for a catering job tommorow. It can hold 16+ racks of baby's, 12+ Butts, 8+ Briskets, and at least 100 thighs respectively. I hope you got the chicken cooker on the front because it is well worth it. Our Chicken scores increased dramatically. I personnaly think that it is the finest offset on the market. Check out our website for pictures, and feel free to email me with any other questions.
Hope to see you at a contest soon. _________________ Steve

I just paid Tom for a TC 120 with the chicken offset last Friday. He is holding it for me at his shop until my cement pad is put down. Can not wait to use it. My team is pretty excited about it. Still need to find a source for wood, but I believe I know of one in my area. I also got the charcoal basket. Do not know if I really need it but I heard that it makes the cooks a little easier. _________________ Big George's BBQ

I use fireplace wood and haven't seen the need for a basket on the MC or a Lang. I just use a floor grate to get air under the fire. _________________ Gasser
