I see on the BBQ Brethren Forum that the radio station that sponsored last years contest seems to want to hold it again with KCBS sanctioning. Does anyone have any more info?

Carl,

I would check with Tommy on this one. I asked him a few weeks ago and he wasn't sure if it would happen. If the radio station is telling people they want to do it again, then that is a good sign.

I enjoyed the event last year; not sure if I would make it this year (Monmouth, NJ is the next weekend and I want to attend that one). It was a great venue so hopefully it will work out.

I emailed the station last week, got a reply from the station manager that they were going to do it again, sometime in July. Saw Gnome's post on the Brethren today with the date, looking forward to it. July 19th is my birthday, so watch out

I was in Berks last year, it was a really nice venue. I hope that they are able to pull it together this year. Anyone hear anything in the last few weeks about it?

Tom has told me that this event is going to happen around the 19th I do believe. I imagine that applications will be out after it is sanctioned. That was my second event and had a great time

I noticed on the KCBS website that this comp. is now sanctioned. I emailed Tom about an application and he is waiting for the radio station to get him the material. This is good news.

Can't wait for Berks. It was a wonderful event and venue last year. Hopefully we can get some more teams out, since it is now sanctioned.

What Pig Headed said. I was looking forward to meeting you and Larry Wolf, but will have to do that at another event.

The VA event sounded interesting, but Berks is less than an hour away. We did it last year and had a great time. Do hope to meet all of you there or at another comp.
