Hi. My name is Chris. My "team name" is Bubba's Barbecue. I say team b/c at this time it's just me cooking and my father in law whittling and watching things if I need to leave the pit.
I am slowly trying to get my brothers in law involved. By then, I may be ready for the KCBS events.
As of now, still concentrating on one day cookoffs.
I have signed up for Yardley's backyard comp; stop by and say hi. |

Hey Chris, welcome to the forum.
Its not that much different with a full blow comp, you don't have to do all the catagories. There are folks out there like us, who can help out when we can. I'm doing Yardley, stop by and visit for a while.

I did that at Yardly last year. Came in dead last in everything but had a great time with my son and wife. Now my other son has joined us. You learn a lot at the comps and meet some really nice people. I will be there this year for the full comp.

Welcome to the forum. Good luck in recruiting your team. If you get them top one they will be hooked. One word of advise is to ask questions. Either here at comps in the cooks meeting - just ask. Someone will always be glad to help.
